Janesville man gets eighth OWI offense, drove while revoked

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WIFR) -- A Janesville man was arrested Friday morning after receiving his eighth OWI offense.

Janesville police say Daniel J. Knopes, 59, drove up onto curbs, striking a street sign and a mailbox.

Police say Knopes had a revoked driving status for O.W.I. and seven prior convictions. He was charged for a probation violation, operating after revocation and hit-and-run to property.

Knopes is being held at Rock County Jail on the offense and a probation hold.
