It's deadline day for Rockford casino proposals.

The city of Rockford will consider all casino proposals submitted Friday by 2 p.m. The original deadline was extended two weeks.

At least two organizations have announced their intentions to submit casino proposals.

​ announced preliminary plans​ for a casino in July. It would be located at the site of the former Clock Tower Resort on East State Street near I-90.

Hard Rock has also opened an information office downtown in its push for a casino.

​ has also announced its intention to submit a proposal for a downtown casino.

This proposed casino would be located near Amerock Embassy Suites Hotel on the South Main corridor.

In September, the city will evaluate proposals and send follow-up questions to proposers.

The city has released the following timetables in the casino evaluation process:

September 16: Evaluation team submits recommendations to City Council

Sept. 23: Public Hearing

By Sept. 30: City Council certifies proposers

Before Oct. 25: Applications filed with Illinois Gaming Board
