This comes after the Mendota Education Association teachers urged the District 289 Board of Education to meet with the teachers and continue the negotiation process to come to a mutual agreement.
Right now, the board is unavailable to meet with the MEA until October 23rd, cancelling classes for students until at least Wednesday.
"Your actions have not gone unnoticed. It means the world to us to have your support and it means the world to me, not only as a teacher in this community, but as a lifelong resident of Mendota and an alum of the Mendota school system," said MEA Co-Vice President Brandon Scheppers.
