ROCKTON, Ill. (WIFR) -- A familiar face takes on a new leadership role at Hononegah Community High School.
Chad Dougherty is set become Hononegah's next principal on July 1, 2019. He has worked as an executive associate principal with the school since 2014.
Dougherty has also served as a science teacher, football coach and an assistant principal in the district, while also leading as principal of Harlem’s Ninth Grade Campus. He will replace retiring Hononegah principal Eric Flohr.
"Since I joined the Hononegah family, it has been a pleasure to serve this community every day," Dougherty said. "It’s an honor to be part of this dedicated staff, and I look forward to continuing to build the legacy of Hononegah Community High School.”
Dougherty will officially be appointed as principal at Wednesday's Hononegah’s Board of Education meeting.
