High rise fire leaves woman with minor injuries

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR)-- Rockford fire says they were called to Valkommen Plaza for an apartment fire on the ninth floor. Investigators say the sprinkler system limited the damage to the kitchen only. Rockford fire tells us the women was transported to the hospital for minor burns to her hand. The sprinkler system left some water damage. Rockford fire believes Red Cross is assisting with relocation efforts.
