ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Part two of a major road project on one of Rockford’s main streets starts Monday, which means you may want to find a different route for some time.
Weather permitting, crews will be out working on the south lanes of Harrison Avenue between 9th and 20th Streets. They're putting in new sewers, widening the road, and putting in curbs, gutters, and medians.
One lane of traffic will be open for each direction, but you can expect some delays.
Stage two should be done by the end of the summer. The entire project should be done by the end of the year.
