MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. (WIFR) -- There's a little piece of the stateline with the 2019 National Christmas Tree display.

More than 20 Harlem Middle School seventh-grade art students have been hard at work since September on a one-of-a-kind ornaments for the display in President's Park.

The display will include 56 trees, each one adorning hand-crafted ornaments from students in all 50 states, Washington D.C. and other U.S. territories.

Some students will head by bus to Washington D.C. on Tuesday to see their work in person. They will also be recognized during Monday's city council meeting in Loves Park.
