OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) - A nearly half-million dollar grant will help preserve land in Ogle County.
The Byron Forest Preserve District acquired the 160-acre Bald Hill Preserve in Mount Morris. The property, known for its unique steep gravel hill and countryside views, cost the district about $650,000.
Some of that money comes from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation Grant. The district will take full ownership of the property next March.
