CHICAGO, Ill. (WIFR) - Governor candidate William Kelly speaks out about his decision to run as an Independent instead of a Republican. Kelly made the announcement last week promoting his former running mate Brian Legerro to drop out of the race.
Kelly explains his decision to switch parties in a statement saying, "An independent candidate for Governor is exactly what Illinois needs right now. If we leave it to the Republican or Democrat nominee in 2018 we will end up with the same millionaires, billionaires, insiders, elites, and cronies."
