Gov. Pritzker, Illinois lawmakers react to fatal Aurora shooting
Five people were killed and five officers were hurt from a
in Aurora on Friday afternoon.
The shooting has gained attention from national, statewide and local leaders.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker met with Aurora Police during a press conference and offered his condolences.
To the families of the victims here in Aurora, there are no words I can offer to lessen the pain, but know that our state grieves with you, that MK and I and our family grieves with you.
Illinois Rep. Stephanie Kifowit (D-98th District), whose office is based in Aurora also offered condolences.
Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth also addressed the shooting on Twitter.
Pres. Trump was briefed about the shooting Friday afternoon. He tweeted about the efforts hours after the situation was cleared.
