ROCKFORD (WIFR) – A goose has found a place to nest in the Stateline and the father will do anything to protect those eggs, however the nest just happens to be outside a bank.

Employees at Northwest Bank say the father has been chasing customers back to their cars. The geese showed up about a week ago and learned they are a protective species so there’s not much they can do but wait it out.

"A lot of people are very interested in looking over the fence to see what's over there. We have customers who are bringing in their grandkids to see the geese,” said marketing assistant Carol Last.

Workers are holding a contest to guess the day the first gosling hatches. The winner gets a paid half-day off from work.
