Goodwill opens appointments for free income tax preparation

Goodwill looks to make tax season a little easier in Northern Illinois.

You can now schedule appointments for free income tax preparation at four Goodwill sites in the Stateline. The locations open up services on Jan. 28, which is also the first day the Internal Revenue Service will process tax returns.

You can visit these locations on the specified dates and times for free tax preparation services:

-Rockford Goodwill Mission Services Center: 850 N. Church Street, Rockford, Ill. (Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m to 5 p.m.)

-Rock Valley College: Woodward Technology Center: 3301 N. Mulford Rd., Rockford, Ill. (Thursday, 3-8 p.m.)

-Northern Illinois University: Holmes Student Center – 600 Lucinda Ave., DeKalb, Ill. (Tuesday, 2-7 p.m.)

-Beloit Public Library: 605 Eclipse Blvd., Beloit, Wis. (Friday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

This marks the tenth year Goodwill has offered free tax preparation. Goodwill also offering Federal and State tax filing online through the "My Free Taxes Program."
