Fully engulfed fire destroys 4 car garage in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A fully engulfed detached garage fire broke out Sunday evening around 5 p.m. in the 5800 block of Garrett Lane.

The Rockford Fire Department says the blaze engulfed the 4 car garage, but no vehicles were inside. They were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

No one was injured in the incident but officials say the estimated loss for the garage is about $40,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
