ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) ----- The 34th annual Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition wrapped up at Sinnissippi Park in Rockford on Saturday.

Judging on creativity, technique and overall message, sculptors spent days and nights making some of the best in frosty fixtures.

23 News’ own Mark Henderson emceed this event, which has been carving out the competition since 1987.

"There were some challenges in the weather that we got during snow sculpting, but ultimately, it made for a fun piece and allowed us to do some very creative things with it by being able to actually sculpt the snow, rather than carve it," said Joe Goral.
