Freeport police investigate two car burglaries

FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) The Freeport Police Department investigates two car burglaries that took place Tuesday morning.

The first happened just after 6:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Jefferson Drive. Police say the victim’s car window had been smashed out and two packages had been taken. Officers say a book and a hood ornament were stolen.

The second incident happened around two hours later in the 100 block of Marcia Drive. That victim told police her wallet with her insurance and credit card were stolen. The victim said her car was unlocked at the time.
