Freeport police are searching for two suspects involved in a shots fired report

FREEPORT, Ill (WIFR)-- Officers responded to a report of shots fired just after midnight on Monday at the 200 block of West Avon St.

The two victims were parked in the street when two males "approached wearing ski masks and all black clothing," the Freeport Police Department news release says.

"The suspects were described as one being taller between 18 and 20 years old and the second suspect being shorter," the release said. "Both suspects were holding handguns and the taller suspect ordered the victim outside of the vehicle to empty their pockets."

The suspects then stole the vehicle and fired shots out of the windows of the car. No people were injured in the incident.
