Update: Aug. 15, 2019, 2:45 p.m.

A man recovered from the Pecatonica River in Freeport died from drowning, according to the Stephenson County Coroner's Office.

David Rose, a 62-year-old Freeport man, was recovered from Tutty's Crossing in the river this morning.

The coroner's office does not suspect foul play in the death.

The death is still under investigation from the Freeport police.

A Freeport man was found dead at Tutty's Crossing Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded around 5:30 p.m. to a man who found his brother deceased.

The victim is identified as David Rose, 62, of Freeport.

Police are conducting a death investigation. It is not being labeled as suspicious at this time.
