Two Freeport residents are charged with criminal neglect for allegedly failing to take care of a person with disabilities.

On Tuesday, Freeport Police Officers served arrest warrants to John Reimers and Tammy Reimers of Freeport. The criminal complaint alleges the two were the care-givers for a 22-year-old man with a disability, and failed to give medications to the victim which the couple knew or reasonably should have known was necessary to maintain the health of the victim, resulting in his health being endangered. Another charge alleges the Reimerses knowingly exposed the victim to willful deprivation in that the victim was not provided with adequate food or proper medication.

Both Tammy and John's bonds were set at $25,000 and they are both being held at the Stephenson County jail in lieu of Bond.
