FREEPORT, Ill (WIFR)--- For many the Stephenson County Fair has become tradition, but now locals will have more events to make into traditions.

The city of Freeport is welcoming an array of festivals that will not only attract locals but people from outside the area.
Events like the 610 Country Music festival being hosted during Labor day weekend features from Texas country music to red dirt.
But the fun does not stop there, on September 27 to the 28, the Eats and Beats food event is also coming to Freeport. Over 20 local nonprofit organizations will bring their food along with live music.
"A lot of these new things are home grown, people from here deciding that we need some new things to do," says Rebecca Motley with the Greater Freeport Partnership.
In the meantime the county fair is open throughout the weekend with gates opening at eight in the morning daily.
