WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) -- Winnebago County Chairperson Frank Haney's request for a temporary restraining order against the county and county board has been denied.
The motion was denied by Judge Donna Honzel.
Haney filed two lawsuits against the Winnebago County Board last week over an ordinance designed to limit powers. He says recent ordinance changes made by the board to limit his powers are unconstitutional.
Some of those changes include allowing the board to choose an administrator instead of the chairperson.
While Haney is not planning to run for chairperson in 2020, he was pushing to make changes for the next chairperson.
This is a developing story. We will update as more information becomes available.
