DEKALB, Ill. (WIFR) - Leaders at Northern Illinois University are making sure the victims of the tragic campus shooting on Valentine's Day 2008 are always remembered.
All week, those directly affected by the Cole Hall shooting will be returning to the NIU campus to remember the five students who lost their lives ten years ago and to reunite with those who survived the shooting.
Most of the current students were 10-years-old or younger at the time of the shooting so leaders put together an elaborate exhibit at the student center called Forward, Together, Remembering.
"Each piece that you see in here was selected because it brings forth some emotion and some feeling and we wanted our students to know about the resiliency of this campus," said Jeannie Meyer of NIU Student Affairs.
The Forward, Together, Remember exhibit runs through Wednesday.
