ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A former physician in the Rockford area could face up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated battery of elderly patients between 2010 and 2013.

64-year-old Charles Dehaan pled guilty to three charges of aggravated battery Monday in Winnebago County court.

Charges claim he inappropriately touched three victims during home health care appointments at their residences between Oct. 2010 and Dec. 2013.

Two victims were over 60 and the third was physically handicapped at the time of the alleged incidents.

Aggravated battery to a victim over 60 is punishable by a sentence of probation or up to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Aggravated battery to a handicapped victim carries the same possible sentence.

Dehaan is scheduled to be in court Sept. 20.

He's considered innocent until proven guilty.
