Former Jefferson High School teacher arrested for sexual abuse of female student
A former Jefferson High School teacher is accused of sexually abusing a female student.
Michael Enneking, 34, was arrested Monday after a months-long investigation.
In April, Rockford police were notified of possible sexual abuse involving a teacher and student. Detectives identified Enneking as the suspect.
Enneking allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with the victim on school grounds. Investigators say there was also inappropriate contact through electronic means between the victim and the suspect after school hours.
A warrant was issued for Enneking's arrest with a $500,000 bond. He was taken into custody on the warrant without incident.
Enneking was charged with four counts of aggravated criminal abuse, two counts of indecent solicitation of a child, grooming and failure to report abuse of a child to DCFS.
Enneking was taken to the Winnebago County Jail. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
