Forbes: Gov. Pritzker, 12 Illinois billionaires among 400 richest in US

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Twelve Illinois billionaires, including Gov. J.B. Pritzker, are among the 400 richest Americans, according to a new list from Forbes.

The Forbes 400 list was released earlier this month, measuring the 400 wealthiest Americans. Forbes says these individuals are worth a record-breaking $2.96 trillion, up 2.2% from 2018.

Citadel CEO Ken Griffin was the highest-ranking billionaire from Illinois and No. 38 overall. J.B. Pritzker came in as the sixth-richest from Illinois and No. 250 overall.

The following Illinois billionaires on the list, including several members of the Pritzker family:

No 38: Ken Griffin, 51, $12.7 billion (hedge funds)
No. 119: Sam Zell, 78, $5.5 billion (real estate, private equity)
No. 187: Thomas Pritzker, 69, $4 billion (hotels, investments)
No. 195: Neil Bluhm, 81, $3.9 billion (real estate)
No. 195 (tie): Joe Mansueto, 63, $3.9 billion (investment research)
No. 250: Gov. J.B. Pritzker, 54, $3.4 billion (hotels, investments)
No. 261: Patrick Ryan, 82, $3.3 billion (insurance)
No. 261 (tie): Mark Walter, 59, $3.3 billion (insurance)
