Flames engulf southeast Rockford junkyard

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Rockford Fire is working to put out a large junkyard fire in southeast Rockford.

Officials say the fire was happening at 200 People Avenue.

The department shared a photo of the fire Wednesday morning around 9:45 a.m.

Fire officials tell 23 News the fire was likely caused by heat and outdoor conditions after items were moved around in the junkyard. Rockford Fire says no one was hurt.
