UPDATE: Woman pulled from Rock River near Martin Park dies

UPDATE: ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz says the woman pulled from the Rock River by fishermen Wednesday has died.

Hintz says an autopsy on 59-year-old Yvonne Challieh of Machesney Park is pending.

The death is under investigation by the Loves Park Police Department.

LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) - A woman is in unknown condition after fishermen pull her from the Rock River.

Loves Park police say it happened just after 11 a.m. in the area of the Riverside Boulevard bridge and Martin Park in Loves Park.

Investigators say the fishermen were able to start CPR when the woman was pulled in to the boat. She was taken to the hospital after emergency crews were able to get a pulse.

It is not confirmed how the woman ended up in the Rock River at this time.
