Firehouse Subs provides lunch for Rockford Fire on Sept. 11

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Firehouse Subs provided lunch for the Rockford Fire Department on the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

The lunch included 20 sandwiches and a heartfelt letter signed by Firehouse Subs employees and community members.

Firehouse Subs wrote the letter in support of Rockford Fire crews and local first responders, which reads:

"We know the important role you play in your community, and on September 11 we're reminded of the sacrifices you make for our safety. Please accept this card, signed by our crew and local community members, as a symbol of our appreciation for your efforts."

2,977 people were killed on September 11, 2001, making it the deadliest terrorist act in world history.
