Firefighters put out house fire in under 10 minutes

Rockford, Ill (WIFR) -- Rockford fire crews had to battle cold temperatures to put out a fire on the city’s west side. It took crew just six minutes to respond to a dryer fire at a multi-family home shortly after 8 p.m. in the 1400 block of Benton Street near Jackson Charter school. No one was hurt in the fire and two dogs were rescued from the building. Investigators estimate damages to be about $3,000.
