ROCKTON, Ill. (WIFR) -- A fire damaged a Rockton home Friday afternoon as the homeowners were prepping for renovations from a previous fire, according to officials.

The Rockton Fire Protection District was called to the home in the 1300 block of Fischer Road around 3 p.m. Crews received a call from a passerby that the house was on fire.

No one was hurt, and no one was home at the time of the fire. The family had been living outdoors in a camper while preparing for renovations from another fire.

According to Rockton Fire Chief Kirk Wilson, more crews around the area were called since there were not any fire hydrants in the area.

Wilson says the house fire caused at least $15,000 in damages. It's unknown what caused the fire.
