Family displaced after early morning fire

One family is displaced after a fire on Thyme Drive Friday morning.
Around 4 a.m. the Rockford Fire Department responded to the 3800 block of Thyme Drive for a residential structure fire. The building is a four-family apartment building, crews found fire coming from the second floor.
The fire was contained to room of origin, no injuries were reported. One adult and two children were able to get out safely. The Red Cross is assisting the family with housing.
The cause is still under investigation, the damages are estimated to be $30,000.
