Faith Walkers Assembly hosts a community blanket drive for those in need

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) ----- This fall, the Faith Walkers Assembly is hosting a community blanket drive, helping those in need get ready for a cold winter ahead.

Taking in new blankets and quilts from supportive donors, all of the proceeds from the outreach program will benefit local shelters, including the Rockford Rescue Mission, Remedies Renewing Lives and Carpenter’s Place.

"We're thankful at this current time that we have received some, but we're looking for the community to support us in this effort. But we want to make sure that not only the homeless community, but those who are in need are kept warm. So we want to make sure we're serving our neighbors and those close by," said Gail Richardson.

Donation buckets will be in the sanctuary every Sunday afternoon from noon until 2 p.m.
