Fred VanVleet store sells out of championship gear within an hour

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- One day after Fred VanVleet's NBA title, fans crowded into his downtown Rockford store for championship gear.

The Fred VanVleet store ordered new championship T-shirts and made them available Friday afternoon. The store opened late at 1:30 p.m. as it waited for its final order of shirts.

Employees from the Fred VanVleet store tell 23 News the store sold out of championship gear within an hour of opening doors Friday.

VanVleet and the Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors by a score of 114-110 on Thursday to secure the NBA championship.

VanVleet scored 22 points in the clincher and became the first Rockford native to earn an NBA championship.
