Exploring women's health at Sen. Steve Stadelman's Wellness Fair

The focus is female as one of the area's state representatives organized a wellness fair in honor of the women in our community.

In its fifth year, State Senator Steve Stadelman's annual event brings together a wide variety of services, including flu shots, reflexology demonstrations, blood pressure and skincare consultations.

The goal of the expo is to empower women to advocate for their health and have the tools they need to lead healthy and successful lives.

"We feel that women take away more knowledge about their health, becoming more aware, realizing how important it is to understand how healthy they are or are not and what they need to do to get healthy," said Debra Marks.

The free event also had a performance by harp and flute duo Emerald Wind, along with the chance to register with the Illinois Organ and Tissue Donor Registry.
