Domestic battery incident leads to stolen firearm arrest

ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR) -- Rockford police responded to a domestic battery call in the 1300 block of South Central Avenue around 5 Wednesday morning for reports of domestic battery.

When they got to the scene they saw several people running away from the home. Officers were able to catch up to the suspects.

Police say one of those suspects, 26-year-old Jamie Abron had two guns and ammunition on him. One of those guns had been reported as stolen.

Abron is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, domestic battery, possession of a stolen firearm, no FOID, illegal possession of ammunition and resisting/obstructing an officer.
