Dixon airport to undergo repairs after donation

DIXON, Ill. (WIFR) -- A $5 thousand donation means decades of much needed repairs can finally begin at the Dixon Municipal Airport.

The city considered shutting down the airport because of high maintenance fees. But, a donation from Sterling-based Wahl Clipper Corporation changed that.

Upgrades have already started and they include improved lighting on the runway and modernizing the airport's terminals.

Dixon's mayor says the city is committed to growing the airport and hopes to see more flights taking off and landing there this year.
