ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- As we make our way closer to the winter season it's important to protect ourselves against illness that may come with the changing seasons.
Dietitians say the foods we eat can play a big role in making sure our immune system is ready to tackle any type of sickness. Eating plenty of fruits and veggies is key is making sure we're getting the vitamins and minerals necessary to stay healthy all winter long. Heading into the holiday season experts say it's important to eat balanced meals.
“Make sure you eat breakfast. Sometimes that will help regulate your appetite and decrease cravings and just because there's more food around at the offices or around the house and that can just help balance out and maybe make you feel better,” said registered dietitian Molly Seger.
