ROCKFORD/FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) – A piece of Chicago history is making its way to the Stateline, as the Chicago Cubs’ Trophy Tour will journey to two locations in the Stateline on Sunday.

The trophy will first stop at the Freeport Masonic Temple from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. before heading to the BMO Harris Bank Center for the IceHogs and Chicago Wolves game, but in order to see the trophy, you must buy a ticket to the game.

For fans hoping to make sure they have a spot in line, doors in Freeport will open at 10:00 a.m. and the doors at the BMO Harris Bank Center will open at 3:00 p.m. A limited number of wrist bands will be handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Wrist bands are required for getting in line, but do not guarantee a picture with the trophy.
Organizers say they will be doing their best to get everyone through with some fans saying they will be getting in line as early as 9 or 10 in the morning at the BMO in Rockford.

"It's going to be very exciting for our fans, for Cubs, and for the city. It's a great platform for the Cubs to display their world series trophy ad for us to kind of give a presentation to the fans and help celebrate their big accomplishment this fall,” says IceHogs’ Director of Business Operations Mike Peck.

Fans will need their own camera to take photos with the trophy. The BMO is asking everyone in line to be patient while waiting and to move as quickly as possible once it’s your turn.

For anyone who doesn’t get a chance to take a photo with the trophy, there will be a pre-game ceremony with the trophy so fans will at least be able to see it.
