ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Rockford Fire crews responded to a structure fire at the Llanitos Auto Repair building Thursday afternoon at 1231 South Main Street.

One person suffered minor injuries, but was treated at the scene, according to Rockford fire officials.

No one was inside while crews worked to contain the fire. It's unknown what caused the fire.

Crews initially treated the situation as a defensive fire given that there were propane tanks inside the building.

The fire broke out shortly after 3 p.m. While it has been reduced, crews say it is still active.

South Main around Llanitos Auto Repair is closed. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
