Confederate Railroad, dropped from DuQuoin fair, gets southern Illinois gig

MARION, Ill. (WIFR) -- Southern-rock band Confederate Railroad will play at the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson dealership in Marion, Illinois.

This comes after band says they were dropped​ from the 2019 Du Quoin State Fair grandstand lineup over their name.

The Illinois Department of Agriculture canceled the appearance last week. It didn’t give a reason but said it “is in the best interest” of the state.

Confederate Railroad will perform on Thursday, September 5 at 2400 Williamson County Drive in Marion, according to dealership owners.

Tickets go on sale Friday, July 12, 2019 at 9 a.m. General admission tickets for this all ages show will be priced at $20 plus fees. For more information on the concert, call 618-997-4577.
