ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Comcast is set to open an Xfinity Store at 6244 Mulford Village Dr. in Rockford this summer.
The company plans to transfer employees from its current service center at Kishwaukee Street when the new location opens. Comcast has not yet announced an official opening date, but says the current facility will still be used for technical operations.
The new store will offer cable TV, Internet service, Xfinity Mobile phone service, and the Xfinity Home security service. The store will also feature iPads and other mobile devices with Xfinity’s mobile apps.
“Comcast has had a major presence in Rockford for many years. We’re pleased the company is adding to it with a new Xfinity Store,” said Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara. “The addition of the Xfinity Store will add to the retail mix in the Millennium Market Center and will attract customers from several nearby Northwest Illinois communities.”
The new store will have 15 employees. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
