UPDATE: ComEd says more than 5,200 customers in the Rockford region are without power.
ComEd says it's restored power more than 42,000 residents so far Thursday.
ComEd says ice on wires and tree branches are causing power wires to come down that lead to the outages.

More than 3,600 ComEd customers in Winnebago County have been affected by power outages Thursday.

ComEd urges customers to contact the company immediately if they experience a power outage or notice a downed power line. You can reach ComEd at 1-800-334-7661, or report outages on the ComEd website.
