The city of Rockford wants to make sure safety is a top priority over New Year's Eve.
The city issued a road caution advisory in recognition of developing weather conditions. Monday's forecast offers a chance for rain and snow with a low expected around 20 degrees.
Public works department leaders will monitor weather conditions and treat roadways as necessary. The city says decisions will be made based on developing conditions.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution, reduce speed and watch for changing road conditions throughout the night.
