The City of Rockford has declared a snow emergency starting at 9 p.m. Saturday night until the Public Works department says it’s no longer necessary.

Street Division employees will continue salting and plowing arterial streets. Contractors will begin plowing residential streets at 9 p.m. Crews will make other decisions as needed.

The odd/even parking is in effect so that plows can make it down street safely.

Crews ask that people move their cars off of the street. If not possible, follow odd/even parking rules.

Cars should be parked on the even number side of the street tonight and then moved to the odd number side of the street at 8 a.m. Sunday morning.

Cars that do not obey these rules will be ticketed.
