Chicago woman accused of stabbing woman in Rockford over domestic dispute

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Chicago woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 21-year-old woman in a domestic dispute on Saturday in Rockford.

Lsean Gilmore, 42, was charged with aggravated battery with a knife and aggravated assault. Police say Gilmore had a domestic relationship with a man who was in the home with the stabbing victim.

Officers learned about the stabbing around 2 a.m. Saturday. Police say it happened in the 1400 block of Christian Street.

The victim reportedly took herself to a hospital. Police say she was stabbed several times, but her injuries are non-life-threatening.

Gilmore was found around 2 p.m. Saturday. She was taken to Winnebago County Jail. Gilmore is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
