Cherry Valley man cashing in at World Series of Poker

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (WIFR) - The World's biggest yearly poker party is going on right now in Las Vegas and a stateline man is taking the event by storm.

Nearly 8,600 people spent the $10,000 buy in for the World Series of Poker Main Event, and as of 10:30 pm Wednesday just 182 players remain.

One of those is Steven Parrott of Cherry Valley. Playing in his first ever Main Event, Parrott stands in 112th place. That means even if he is the next one out, he would still win more than $50,000 dollars. If he ends up getting knocked out at his current position of 112th, he would win about $60,000. And if Parrott's one of the nine to reach the final table, he's assured at least $1 million; with a shot at a $10 million first place prize.
