Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen offers support in push for Rockford casino

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Cheap Trick's lead guitarist offers support as Illinois lawmakers push for a Rockford casino.

Rick Nielsen, raised in the Rockford area, was introduced on the House floor by State Rep. Maurice West (D-Rockford).

In previous weeks, Rockford mayor Tom McNamara and Rockford Chamber of Commerce president Einar Forsman testified during a House hearing about casino expansion in northern Illinois.

The two also reached out to Chicago mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot and created an advertisement​ in hopes for support.
