Rockford Public Schools celebrated its eighth annual Champions Ball and Athletic Hall of Fame this weekend at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center.

The event is a fundraiser for the Rockford Sports Coalition and is a way to recognize Rockford's history and athletic accomplishments. The 2020 Hall of Fame inductees are all from West High School, Auburn High School and East High School.

Here is a list of inductees:

Mark Sibley, Athlete Award - West High School

Dan Scarpetta, Athlete Award - Auburn High School

Amanda Omar, Athlete Award - East High School

Seth Miller, Athlete Award - Auburn High School

1968 Guilford High School baseball team, Team Award

Coach Bob Pellant, Coach Award - East High School

Many shared their stories of success, and excitement for being recognized. "You don't play to think you're ever going to get into the Hall of Fame," says former baseball player Dan Scarpetta. "But when it's all said and done and the dust settles you reflect back on your career, and I'm very proud of the accomplishments that I did, and of all the people that have helped me along the way."
