Freeport police are looking for a thief who reportedly stole a person's car while he warmed it up in a driveway.

The car was stolen around 3:30 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of W. Avon Street.

Police say the victim left the car unattended in the driveway for nearly five minutes when a male suspect in a brown coat took off in the car.

The car was described as a 2009 Dodge Journey with Illinois registration BT60707.
