ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Visitors to downtown Rockford will get their first taste of Capital House during its opening tomorrow.
A year after announcing they would move into the old Kryptonite location on W. State Street, Capital House will finally have a chance to open its doors.
Partner Ted Brothers says it may have taken longer than expected to open the hybrid coffee house and restaurant but he is ready for customers to see Capital House's unique style.
"Rockford needs to find their identity and I think they are. The hotel's going in, you have the BMO, the Coronado is a beautiful theater, you have all of these things that are so pronounced. And us coming in here with an urban restaurant and an urban supermarket I believe adds to that," said Brothers.
The next venture for the partners is a supermarket in downtown Rockford called Capital Foods. They expect that to be open by the end of summer.
