ROSCOE, Ill. (WIFR) -- Camping World in Roscoe honored active-duty military and veterans today by flying a huge American flag.

The 40 x 80 flag was so large that it took about 20 minutes just to fly it. It covers 3,200 feet and flies on a 130-foot pole.

Those who helped hang the flag say that the hardest part was making sure the flag never hit the ground.

"Camping World has been known throughout the veteran communities across the nation that they like supporting the veterans and their activities. They're a big supporter of us. They want to try to support us in the community wherever they can, and so it was an honor to help them celebrate," said Member of the VFW Department of Illinois District 6 Commander Gary Holmes.

All local public service and safety members were welcome to attend this event honoring the U.S. Armed Forces.
